The restoration works will be carried out by specialists from Germany.
An old street next to the Central Park in Didim is to be closed for traffic and transformed into an open air bazaar for handicrafts, following the completion of the restoration works. There will then be the opportunity for individuals to display and trade handicrafts and memorabilia at the street.
Renovation works are now underway for the opening of the bazaar street, which was initially to be named "Love Street" as proposed by the Chamber of Architects, but later decided on calling it Hanimeli (Woman’s) Street, as suggested by the City Council because of the handicrafts stalls.
A group of German specialists are taking care of the street’s restoration. The group of seven specialists, including two professors and a lecturer from the Architecture and Urban Planning Faculty of the University of Stuttgart, which prepared the project by using photos of the facades of the buildings facing the street, held a briefing on Sunday on the Hanimeli Street, explaining that the project would take inspiration from similar streets in Germany.
